OnePlus Nord 6 Review
The OnePlus Nord 6 arrives at a time when delivering flagship-level performance in the mid-range segment is becoming increasingly challenging due to rising component costs. Yet, OnePlus seems determined to stay true to its “flagship killer” roots, and with the Nord 6, it manages to strike an impressive balance between performance, design, and endurance.
Inspired heavily by the design language of the OnePlus 15, the Nord 6 sports a sleek and modern look. It features clean lines, flat edges, and a distinctive squircle-shaped aluminum-finished camera module. Available in silver, mint, and black finishes, the phone’s matte polycarbonate back enhances grip despite its 217g weight. Durability also sees a major upgrade, with Crystal Guard Glass protection and an IP69/IP69K rating, making it far more resilient than its predecessors.
On the front, the device boasts a stunning 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate and up to 1800 nits of peak brightness. While it lacks Dolby Vision and ultra-low refresh scaling for power efficiency, the display still delivers sharp visuals and vibrant colors. Whether you’re gaming or streaming content, the experience remains fluid and immersive. The Aqua Touch 2.0 feature ensures the screen remains responsive even when wet, adding practical usability in everyday scenarios.
Under the hood, the Nord 6 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. This combination ensures top-tier performance for a mid-range device. From multitasking to gaming, the phone handles everything with ease. Popular titles like BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile run smoothly without noticeable frame drops, even during extended sessions. However, more demanding games like Grid Legends may push the chipset closer to its limits. For optimal performance, the 12GB RAM variant is highly recommended.
The smartphone runs on Android 16-based OxygenOS, which continues to offer a clean and customizable user experience without unnecessary bloatware. OnePlus has also introduced useful AI-powered features that assist with writing, recording, transcription, and content organization through apps like Mind Space. Additionally, the company promises four years of Android updates and six years of security patches, ensuring long-term usability.
One of the standout features of the Nord 6 is its massive 9,000mAh battery—an impressive feat considering its relatively slim 8.5mm body. The battery easily lasts two full days on mixed usage and can even stretch into a third day. When it comes time to recharge, the 80W SuperVOOC fast charging support ensures the device powers up fully in just over an hour, making it one of the most reliable smartphones for battery life in its category.
However, the camera system is where the Nord 6 slightly falls short of expectations. It features a 50MP Sony LYT-600 primary sensor that performs well in good lighting conditions, capturing detailed and color-accurate images. Dynamic range is also commendable. That said, low-light photography is average, with visible loss of detail and slower processing speeds. The absence of a telephoto lens is noticeable, and while portrait shots are decent, the 8MP ultrawide and selfie cameras struggle in dim conditions.
Overall, the OnePlus Nord 6 marks a strong comeback for the Nord lineup. It delivers excellent performance, a premium-like design, industry-leading battery life, and a vibrant display—all at a competitive starting price of ₹38,999. While the cameras may not impress photography enthusiasts, the overall package makes it a compelling choice in the mid-range smartphone market.
