Celina Jaitly
Celina Jaitly has reportedly filed a formal complaint against her husband Peter Haag, leading the Mumbai Police to register an FIR under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. The case has drawn widespread attention due to the serious allegations involved, including claims of cruelty, assault, intimidation, and ongoing harassment.
According to multiple reports, the actress approached authorities after allegedly facing prolonged domestic issues within her marriage. The FIR is said to include sections related to physical abuse, criminal intimidation, and harassment. Officials are reportedly continuing their investigation while examining evidence and statements connected to the complaint.
FIR Registered Under Multiple BNS Sections
As per reports, the Mumbai Police registered the FIR under Sections 85, 115(2), 351(2), and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. These sections reportedly deal with allegations involving cruelty, assault, threats, and intentional harassment.
The development comes months after Celina Jaitly had earlier moved court under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005. In that petition, she allegedly accused Peter Haag of subjecting her to repeated domestic violence during their marriage.
The latest criminal proceedings are now believed to run parallel to the ongoing domestic violence case already before the court.
Look Out Circular Reportedly Issued
The matter reportedly escalated further after authorities claimed that Peter Haag was not cooperating fully with the investigation. According to media reports, a Look Out Circular (LOC) has now allegedly been issued against him.
An LOC is generally used by investigative agencies to monitor or restrict the movement of an individual in connection with an active investigation. However, officials have not publicly shared detailed information regarding the exact status of the notice.
Since Peter Haag is an Austrian national and is reportedly staying abroad, the cross-border nature of the dispute has made the legal process more complicated.
Custody and Communication Concerns Raised
Apart from the allegations of abuse, the actress has also reportedly raised concerns regarding her access to her children. Reports suggest that the children are currently believed to be in Austria under Peter Haag’s custody.
Celina Jaitly has allegedly informed the court that she has faced difficulties communicating with them and claimed that her contact with the children was restricted.
According to reports, the actress has requested uninterrupted virtual and telephonic communication rights with the children while also seeking custody-related relief from the court.
Compensation and Maintenance Demands
Reports further suggest that Celina Jaitly has sought financial relief as part of the ongoing legal proceedings. As per PTI, the actress has reportedly requested a monthly maintenance amount of ₹10 lakh along with compensation worth ₹50 crore.
The court is expected to examine the financial and custody-related demands alongside the allegations mentioned in the domestic violence and criminal complaints.
Public Attention on the Case
The case has attracted major public and media attention because of Celina Jaitly’s past popularity in the entertainment industry. Before stepping away from films, she was among the recognised faces in Hindi cinema and also gained fame through beauty pageants such as Femina Miss India and Miss Universe.
Over the past several years, the actress largely remained away from Bollywood and public appearances. However, the ongoing legal battle has once again brought her into headlines.
Authorities are reportedly continuing their investigation, and no final conclusions have yet been reached in the matter. Further legal proceedings are expected as the case develops in both India and Austria.
