Bollywood actor Akshaye Khanna has been enjoying a remarkable 2025 with successful films like Chhaava and Dhurandhar winning both audience appreciation and box office success. Amid the renewed spotlight on the actor, several old interviews and behind-the-scenes stories involving him have resurfaced online. One such story, recently shared by actor Amit Behl, has caught the attention of fans for revealing Akshaye’s emotional and compassionate side.
During a conversation on Siddharth Kannan’s YouTube podcast, Amit Behl recalled an incident from a film shoot where Akshaye Khanna became furious after a junior actor was publicly humiliated during lunch.
According to Amit, the incident happened at a hotel where the lead cast and main crew members of the film were staying. A lesser-known character actor, who was reportedly staying at another hotel, came to the location during lunchtime and quietly joined the buffet.
Amit explained that the actor had barely started eating when someone connected to the production team noticed him and questioned why he was eating there. Soon after, a member of the production staff allegedly approached the actor and told him that he was not allowed to have food from that buffet.
The incident deeply embarrassed the actor, who quietly placed his plate aside and moved away without creating any scene. However, the moment did not go unnoticed by Akshaye Khanna.
Amit Behl revealed that Akshaye, who is generally known to be reserved and soft-spoken, suddenly lost his calm after witnessing the disrespect shown to a fellow artist. According to him, Akshaye passionately spoke about the meaning of hunger, dignity, and respect on a film set.
He reportedly told the production team that a film is not made because of expensive food or luxury arrangements, but because of the blessings and hard work of every individual involved in the project. Amit recalled that the intensity of Akshaye’s reaction surprised everyone present because the actor rarely raises his voice publicly.
Amit described the moment by saying it felt as if a silent volcano had suddenly erupted. The incident left a lasting impression on him, as it revealed how deeply Akshaye cared about the dignity of fellow actors, regardless of their status in the industry.
Over the years, Akshaye Khanna has earned a reputation for being selective about his work and maintaining a low profile away from the spotlight. However, stories like these continue to highlight his thoughtful personality and the respect he carries for people working behind the scenes in the film industry.
Professionally, the actor is currently riding high on the success of “Dhurandhar,” where he portrayed Lyari gangster Rehman Dakait, a character reportedly inspired by a real-life figure. His performance in the film received strong praise from critics and audiences alike. In the story, his character eventually faces off against the role played by Ranveer Singh in a dramatic climax.
Following the success of “Dhurandhar,” Akshaye Khanna is now preparing for several major projects. He is all set to make his Telugu cinema debut with Mahakali, marking a new phase in his acting career.
Apart from that, he will also be seen in Ikka, directed by Siddharth P Malhotra. The film stars Sunny Deol in the lead role, while Akshaye is expected to play the main antagonist. The cast also includes Dia Mirza, Tillotama Shome, and Sanjeeda Shaikh.
The film is reportedly heading for a direct digital release on Netflix, adding to the growing excitement around Akshaye Khanna’s upcoming projects.
