WhatsApp Plus
Popular messaging app WhatsApp has started rolling out a new paid subscription feature called “WhatsApp Plus” for iPhone users. According to recent reports, the feature is currently available to a limited number of iOS users, but the company is expected to expand access over the coming weeks. The new subscription introduces several personalization and customization tools designed to improve the overall WhatsApp experience.
The regular WhatsApp experience remains unchanged for users who do not subscribe. Standard messaging, calling, and privacy features will continue to work as usual. WhatsApp Plus is mainly aimed at users who want more control over the appearance and organization of the app.
What is WhatsApp Plus?
WhatsApp Plus is a premium subscription service that offers extra customization features not available in the free version of the app. With this new plan, iPhone users can personalize their app using exclusive themes, animated stickers, custom icons, and additional ringtone options.
Users can check whether the feature is available for their account by opening the Settings section inside WhatsApp. Since the rollout is still limited, not every iPhone user will see the WhatsApp Plus dashboard immediately.
WhatsApp Plus Price Details
At the moment, WhatsApp has not officially revealed pricing for India. However, the subscription has already appeared in a few international markets. Reports suggest that the plan costs €2.49 per month in Europe, PKR 229 per month in Pakistan, and around $29 per month in Mexico.
The subscription automatically renews every month unless canceled before the renewal date. Users who do not want to continue the service must cancel it at least 24 hours before the next billing cycle. Some eligible users may also receive a free trial for either one week or one month.
Top Features of WhatsApp Plus
WhatsApp Plus focuses mainly on personalization and chat management. The current premium features reportedly include:
- Premium animated stickers with overlay effects
- 18 app theme color options
- 14 different app icons
- Ability to pin up to 20 chats
- Chat list customization tools
- 10 additional call ringtones
One of the most noticeable upgrades is the increased pinned chat limit. Regular WhatsApp users can currently pin only three conversations at the top of their chat list. With WhatsApp Plus, that number increases to 20, making it easier to manage family groups, office chats, close friends, and important conversations.
No Changes for Free WhatsApp Users
The report also states that non-subscribers will continue to enjoy full access to all standard WhatsApp features. The premium subscription only adds cosmetic and organizational tools without affecting the core messaging experience.
WhatsApp Plus is currently available only for WhatsApp Messenger users and does not support WhatsApp Business accounts. This means business users will not be able to access the premium customization tools for now.
More Premium Features Could Arrive Soon
Reports suggest that WhatsApp is already working on additional premium tools and features for future updates. As the company gradually expands access to more iPhone users, the subscription could become a major part of WhatsApp’s long-term strategy for offering advanced customization options.
For users who enjoy personalizing their apps and organizing chats more efficiently, WhatsApp Plus could offer a more flexible and stylish messaging experience.
