Xiaomi has officially launched its latest budget smartphone, the Redmi A7 Pro 5G, in India. Marking a significant addition to the A-series lineup, this is the first time the company has introduced a “Pro” variant in this segment. The device is designed to offer a well-rounded experience at an affordable price, combining a large display, long-lasting battery, and 5G connectivity to cater to value-conscious consumers.
The Redmi A7 Pro 5G features a large 6.9-inch display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smoother scrolling and an enhanced viewing experience. With a peak brightness of up to 800 nits, the screen is suitable for outdoor usage as well. Xiaomi has also incorporated TÜV Rheinland certifications and DC dimming technology to reduce eye strain, making it more comfortable for prolonged use, especially for users who spend extended hours on their devices.
One of the standout features of the smartphone is its massive 6300mAh battery, which is expected to deliver extended usage on a single charge. The device supports 15W wired charging and also includes 7.5W reverse wired charging, allowing users to power other gadgets using their phone. This feature is particularly useful for those who rely on multiple devices throughout the day.
Under the hood, the Redmi A7 Pro 5G is powered by an octa-core 5G processor, ensuring reliable performance for daily tasks, browsing, and light gaming. The smartphone also supports virtual RAM expansion, which enhances multitasking capabilities by utilizing unused storage as additional memory. This helps in delivering a smoother and more responsive user experience, even with multiple apps running in the background.
On the software front, the device runs on Xiaomi’s latest Xiaomi HyperOS 3.0, which brings several improvements in performance and user interface. It also introduces AI-powered features such as Circle to Search, enabling users to quickly find information by simply circling objects or text on the screen. These intelligent tools aim to enhance productivity and simplify everyday tasks.
In terms of photography, the Redmi A7 Pro 5G is equipped with a dual rear camera setup featuring a 32MP primary sensor, designed to capture clear and detailed images. For selfies and video calls, the device includes an 8MP front-facing camera. While the camera setup is modest, it is well-suited for casual photography and social media usage.
The smartphone also includes practical features such as an IP52 rating for dust and splash resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for quick and secure unlocking, and expandable storage support of up to 2TB via a microSD card. These additions further enhance the device’s usability and appeal in the budget segment.
In India, the Redmi A7 Pro 5G has been launched at a competitive price point. The introductory price starts at Rs 11,499, making it an attractive option for budget buyers looking for 5G connectivity. The base variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage is priced at Rs 12,499, while the 4GB + 128GB model is available at Rs 13,499 before any discounts or offers.
The smartphone will go on sale starting April 15, 2026, and will be available through multiple platforms, including Amazon India, Mi.com, and offline retail stores across the country. Xiaomi is also offering additional purchase benefits such as no-cost EMI options for up to three months, making it easier for consumers to own the device without financial strain.
With its combination of a large display, powerful battery, 5G support, and competitive pricing, the Redmi A7 Pro 5G aims to strengthen Xiaomi’s presence in India’s highly competitive budget smartphone market.
