Moto G87
Motorola has expanded its mid-range smartphone lineup with the official launch of the Moto G87, a feature-packed device that aims to set new benchmarks in its segment. With a standout 200MP primary camera, a large battery, and a premium design, the Moto G87 is positioned as one of the most advanced offerings in the G-series to date.
One of the biggest highlights of the Moto G87 is its impressive camera system. The smartphone is equipped with a 200MP primary rear sensor, which comes with optical image stabilisation (OIS) for enhanced image clarity and stability. According to Motorola, this is the most advanced camera setup ever introduced in a G-series device. The camera supports 2x lossless zoom and up to 10x digital zoom, allowing users to capture detailed shots from a distance. Complementing the main sensor is an 8MP ultra-wide lens, designed to capture broader scenes with ease.
On the front, the Moto G87 features a 32MP selfie camera capable of recording videos in up to 2K resolution, making it suitable for high-quality video calls and content creation.
The display is another strong point of the device. It boasts a large 6.78-inch 1.5K Extreme AMOLED panel that offers vibrant visuals and sharp detail. With a peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits, the screen ensures excellent visibility even under direct sunlight. The display also supports a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and gameplay, along with 10-bit color depth and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut for an immersive viewing experience. Protection is handled by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, while SGS certifications for low blue light and reduced motion blur add to user comfort.
Under the hood, the Moto G87 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset, delivering reliable performance for everyday tasks and gaming. The device comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, ensuring smooth multitasking and ample space for apps and media. It runs on Android 16 with Motorola’s Hello UI, offering a clean and user-friendly interface.
Battery life is another key strength of the Moto G87. It houses a 5,200mAh battery that supports 30W TurboPower fast charging, enabling users to stay connected throughout the day with minimal downtime.
In terms of audio, Motorola claims a significant upgrade over its predecessor, with 280% more powerful sound output. The device features stereo speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos, delivering a richer and more immersive audio experience.
The Moto G87 also incorporates several AI-powered features, including Auto Smile Capture, Google’s Chat with Gemini, and Circle to Search, enhancing usability and smart functionality. For security, the smartphone offers both face unlock and a fingerprint sensor.
Durability is another area where the device shines. It comes with IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, making it resistant to dust and water. Additionally, it meets MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification standards, ensuring durability in tough conditions.
Design-wise, the Moto G87 is slim and lightweight, measuring just 7.38mm in thickness and weighing 183 grams. It features a premium leather-inspired finish and is available in stylish Pantone Overture and Pantone Blue Atoll color options.

The Moto G87 is priced at GBP 349.99 (approximately Rs 45,000) for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. It is currently listed on Motorola’s UK website, though it has not yet gone on sale.
