OnePlus Nord 6 Review
OnePlus has officially launched the OnePlus Nord 6 in India, and early impressions suggest that the brand is sticking to what it does best—delivering strong performance in the mid-range segment. Known for its performance-focused Nord lineup, OnePlus seems to have taken things a step further this time.
Priced starting at Rs 38,999, the OnePlus Nord 6 aims to offer a near-flagship experience without breaking the bank. After spending some initial time with the device, here’s a quick look at what it brings to the table.
Familiar philosophy, refreshed design
The Nord series has always been about performance, and the Nord 6 continues that legacy. However, OnePlus has introduced noticeable design changes this time. The phone moves away from the pill-shaped camera module seen in previous models and adopts a more squared camera island—similar to recent flagship designs.
The device is available in three color options—Holographic Quick Silver, Fresh Mint, and Pitch Black. The Fresh Mint variant stands out for its clean and minimal aesthetic, while the Quick Silver option adds a reflective finish for those who prefer a more eye-catching look.
Despite being primarily made of plastic, the phone feels sturdy in hand. At 8.5mm thickness, it’s slightly bulky but manageable. Additionally, OnePlus has included IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, making it highly resistant to dust and water.
Smooth display and strong performance
One of the standout features of the Nord 6 is its upgraded display. It now supports a 165Hz refresh rate, an improvement over its predecessor. While most apps may not fully utilize this refresh rate, the screen still feels incredibly smooth and responsive in everyday use.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, which delivers impressive performance. Whether it’s multitasking or casual gaming, the device handles everything with ease. Early testing shows no noticeable lag or heating issues.
Running on OxygenOS 16, the Nord 6 offers a clean and fluid user experience. While there are a few pre-installed apps, most can be removed, keeping the interface clutter-free.
Battery life steals the show
Perhaps the biggest highlight of the Nord 6 is its massive 9,000mAh battery. This is significantly larger than what most smartphones offer in this segment. In real-world usage, the phone easily lasts multiple days on a single charge with moderate use.
The device also supports 80W fast charging, and it comes with the charger in the box—a welcome addition. Additionally, it offers 27W reverse charging, allowing users to charge other devices when needed.
Camera: Promising but needs more testing
The camera setup on the Nord 6 appears promising in initial use. Daylight shots are sharp and detailed, although colors tend to lean slightly warm. Portrait mode works well in most cases but struggles with edge detection at times.
A detailed camera review will be needed to fully evaluate its capabilities, especially in low-light conditions.
First impressions: A solid upgrade
Overall, the OnePlus Nord 6 looks like a strong contender in the mid-range smartphone market. It offers excellent performance, a smooth display, and exceptional battery life—all key factors for most users.
While it builds on the strengths of its predecessor, the real question remains whether it stands out enough against competitors in this price segment. A final verdict will depend on long-term testing, but for now, the Nord 6 makes a solid first impression.
