Vaibhav Suryavanshi Smashes 32-Ball Century, Breaks Multiple Records in Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025
In a breathtaking display of power hitting, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi lit up the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha on Friday during his debut for India A in the Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025. The young prodigy hammered a spectacular century off just 32 balls, marking the fastest T20 hundred of his career.
Before the match even began, Vaibhav was surrounded by eager fans seeking selfies and autographs. However, the teenager from Bihar politely turned them down, choosing instead to channel his energy into the match — a decision that soon proved worthwhile for everyone watching.
Equals Pant’s Record, Enters Elite List Again
Vaibhav’s blistering knock saw him tie Rishabh Pant’s 32-ball T20 century — the joint second-fastest by an Indian batter. Only Urvil Patel and Abhishek Sharma, both of whom struck 28-ball hundreds, stand ahead on the Indian list. The world record still belongs to Estonia’s Sahil Chauhan, who blasted a 27-ball century in 2024.
At just 14 years and 232 days, Vaibhav also became the youngest cricketer ever to score a hundred for a men’s national representative side, further cementing his position as one of the most exciting talents in world cricket. He is currently the only player globally with two T20 centuries in 35 balls or fewer.
A Knock That Almost Never Happened
The remarkable innings could have ended before it began. On the very first ball of the match, UAE captain Alishan Sharafu dropped a straightforward catch at cover, giving Vaibhav the lifeline he needed. What followed was pure destruction of the UAE bowling lineup.
Playing with trademark aggression, the left-hander launched 15 towering sixes and 11 fours during his stay at the crease. He raced to 144 off 42 balls at a staggering strike rate of 342.86, threatening not only Tilak Varma’s record for the highest T20 score by an Indian but also Chris Gayle’s world record score.
His whirlwind innings ended in the 13th over when Muhammad Farazuddin caught him in the deep. As he walked back visibly disappointed, the entire Indian dugout rose to give him a standing ovation for his extraordinary effort — the fourth-highest T20 score by an Indian.
India A Crush UAE Thanks to Vaibhav’s Heroics
Powered by Vaibhav’s explosive batting, India A posted a gigantic 297/4, a total far beyond UAE’s reach. UAE managed only 149/7, handing India A a massive victory — and cementing Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s place in cricket’s record books once again.
