Cricketer Smriti Mandhana’s much-awaited wedding with music composer Palash Muchhal has been put on hold after her father, Srinivas Mandhana, suffered a heart attack during last-minute wedding preparations. The incident occurred at the Mandhana family farmhouse in Samdol, Sangli, where close relatives had gathered for the ceremony.
Smriti’s business manager confirmed the sudden health emergency, explaining that Srinivas Mandhana became unwell early in the morning while having breakfast.
“He suddenly felt uneasy. At first, we thought it might be something minor and waited for some time. But his condition kept worsening, so we decided not to take any chances. We called an ambulance immediately and shifted him to the hospital. He is now under observation,” the manager shared.
According to sources, he was rushed to a private hospital where doctors are monitoring his condition. His health is currently reported to be stable, though he will remain under medical supervision for the next few days.
Given the situation, all scheduled wedding rituals for the day have been postponed indefinitely. Smriti, who shares a close bond with her father, reportedly decided not to proceed with the ceremony until he fully recovers.
The manager added, “Smriti was extremely shaken. She has made it clear that the wedding will only happen once her father is completely fine. The family is waiting anxiously for his recovery.”
Event organisers have already begun dismantling the decorations and arrangements that had been set up for today’s ceremony. The wedding was originally planned for November 23, with close family and friends expected to attend. Videos and photos from pre-wedding festivities had been circulating widely over the past few days.
Both families have requested privacy during this difficult time.
