Music composer Palash Muchhal has finally broken his silence after Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana confirmed that their wedding had been called off. Both issued separate statements on Sunday, publicly acknowledging the end of their relationship.
Palash addressed the matter through an Instagram Story, clarifying that he has chosen to step away from the relationship and is now focusing on moving forward. “I have decided to move on in my life and step back from my personal relationship,” he wrote.
He also strongly reacted to the wave of unverified rumours circulating online, especially claims that he had allegedly cheated during the pre-wedding celebrations. Calling these accusations “baseless” and “hurtful,” Palash expressed deep disappointment at the rapid spread of misinformation.
“It has been very difficult for me to see people react so easily to baseless rumours about something that has been most sacred to me,” he shared.
Describing this period as the toughest phase of his life, he urged people to think before judging others based on unverified gossip. “Our words can wound in ways we may never understand,” he added, reminding the public of the emotional toll such speculation can cause.
Palash concluded his statement by announcing strict legal action against anyone spreading defamatory or false content. “Thank you to everyone who has stood by me with kindness in this tough time,” he wrote.
Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal were scheduled to marry on November 24 in her hometown, Sangli. Pre-wedding festivities had already begun, with several Indian women’s cricket team players in attendance. Photos from the ceremonies quickly went viral.
However, on the morning of the scheduled wedding, Smriti’s management announced that the ceremony had been postponed indefinitely due to her father’s sudden hospitalisation. Palash and his family returned to Mumbai later the same day, following which he was also reportedly admitted to a hospital.
