R Madhavan Breaks Silence on Comparison Buzz as Akshaye Khanna Wins Applause for Dhurandhar

As Dhurandhar continues to perform strongly at the box office, discussions around the film are intensifying—not just for its commercial success, but also for the powerful performances delivered by its cast. Among them, Akshaye Khanna’s portrayal of a ruthless gangster has emerged as a standout, earning widespread appreciation from audiences and critics alike.

Amid the growing praise, social media chatter hinted at possible discomfort or jealousy from co-actor R Madhavan, suggesting he may have been overshadowed by the attention Akshaye Khanna received. Madhavan has now directly addressed these rumours and firmly dismissed them.

In a recent interaction, Madhavan clarified that there is absolutely no rivalry or unease between him and Akshaye. On the contrary, he expressed genuine admiration for Akshaye’s craft, stating that the acclaim coming his way is well deserved. He described Akshaye Khanna as an incredibly gifted performer who remains untouched by the highs and lows of public validation.

Madhavan also spoke about Akshaye’s reserved personality, noting that he has always preferred to stay away from unnecessary limelight. According to him, Akshaye maintains a rare sense of balance—treating both success and setbacks with the same quiet composure. This grounded approach, Madhavan added, makes his achievements even more meaningful.

For Madhavan, being part of Dhurandhar itself is a rewarding experience. He referred to the film as an important project in his career and shared his gratitude for being associated with a story-driven cinematic venture. He further pointed out that both Akshaye Khanna and filmmaker Aditya Dhar are focused on storytelling rather than chasing aggressive publicity, allowing the film’s impact to grow organically.

Dhurandhar is written, directed, and co-produced by Aditya Dhar and features an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi. In the film, Madhavan essays the role of Ajay Sanyal, the Director of the Intelligence Bureau, while Akshaye Khanna plays Rehman Dakait, the formidable leader of a Baloch gang. Their contrasting yet compelling performances have contributed significantly to the film’s strong theatrical run.
