Jaish-e-Mohammed Raises Funds Online for New Fidayeen Attack, Intel Reveals

Intelligence agencies have uncovered alarming details indicating that Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) is mobilising resources to prepare a fresh fidayeen (suicide) squad for an attack targeting India. The development comes amid the ongoing probe into the Delhi Red Fort car bombing, which investigators believe was orchestrated by the group.

According to sources, digital traces found during the investigation reveal that Jaish leaders issued fundraising appeals through online platforms, including the Pakistani payment app SadaPay. Intelligence inputs also suggest the group may be preparing a women-led suicide unit for an upcoming strike.

The organisation already operates a dedicated women’s wing, reportedly overseen by Sadiya, the sister of JeM chief Masood Azhar. This wing—called Jamat ul-Muminat—was strengthened after Indian forces destroyed multiple JeM camps in Bahawalpur during Operation Sindoor.

One of the main suspects in the Red Fort blast, Dr. Shahina Saeed, alias “Madam Surgeon”, is believed to be linked to this women’s wing. She is suspected of playing a key role in financing the attack.

Investigators say that Jaish has urged supporters to contribute 20,000 Pakistani rupees (approx. ₹6,400), branding it as the cost of a “winter kit” required by militants. The kit includes items like tents, mats, warm clothing, shoes, and socks—essentials used by terrorists during field operations.

The fundraising campaign reportedly promises that anyone who contributes or “cares for a jihadi even after death” will be considered a jihadi themselves, a tactic aimed at boosting donations.

Officials believe the funds are being routed swiftly to ground operatives, including the 10-member “terror doctor” module responsible for the November 10 Red Fort blast, which killed 15 people. The explosion was triggered by a Hyundai i20 packed with ammonium nitrate fuel oil. The driver, Dr. Umar Mohammad, died on the spot. A self-recorded video of him, released recently, attempts to justify suicide bombings.

Growing Terror Threat in J&K

Recent intelligence inputs accessed earlier this month indicate that Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba are preparing for a series of coordinated terror strikes in Jammu & Kashmir. Both groups, backed by Pakistan’s military establishment, have executed major attacks in India over the past six months, each involving civilian casualties.
