K-pop superstar and actor Jisoo from the globally popular girl group BLACKPINK has sparked excitement among Indian fans after hinting at a possible Bollywood debut. During a recent promotional interaction for her upcoming Netflix series, the singer-actress expressed interest in working in Hindi cinema, triggering widespread buzz on social media.

Jisoo appeared alongside her co-star Seo In-guk while promoting their new series Boyfriend on Demand. During the conversation, the two actors were asked whether they would consider acting in a Bollywood film, particularly one exploring an AI-based romantic storyline.

Responding enthusiastically, Seo In-guk said he would love to explore such an opportunity. Jisoo also echoed the excitement and playfully added that she hopes filmmakers keep them in mind for future projects. “I hope you can, you know, please look out for us. We’ll be there,” she said with a laugh, instantly capturing the attention of fans.

The brief but exciting moment quickly went viral online, especially among Indian fans who have long expressed admiration for the K-pop star. Many fans took to social media to share clips from the interview and imagine what Jisoo’s Bollywood debut could look like.

Several fans even began tagging well-known Indian filmmakers, urging them to cast the BLACKPINK star in their future projects. Names such as Sanjay Leela Bhansali and S. S. Rajamouli quickly started trending in discussions, with fans suggesting that Jisoo would fit perfectly in visually grand films or epic period dramas.

Some fans also mentioned leading production houses like Yash Raj Films and Dharma Productions, believing they could introduce Jisoo to Bollywood audiences through large-scale commercial projects.

One fan commented online that Jisoo’s elegance and graceful screen presence would perfectly match the cinematic style of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, whose films are known for their opulence and strong female characters. Others imagined her appearing in a global spectacle directed by S. S. Rajamouli, whose films often combine intense storytelling with large-scale visuals.

Beyond music, Jisoo has steadily built a strong acting portfolio in recent years. She first gained major recognition as an actress with the 2021 Korean drama Snowdrop, where she played the lead role and received the Outstanding Korean Actress award at the Seoul International Drama Awards.

Since then, she has continued expanding her acting career with diverse roles. In 2025, she starred in the zombie thriller Newtopia, showcasing a darker and more intense side of her acting abilities. The same year, she made her big-screen debut with the fantasy film Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy, further strengthening her credentials as a versatile performer.

Her latest project, Boyfriend on Demand, premiered on Netflix on March 6 and has already attracted significant attention from viewers worldwide. In the series, Jisoo plays Seo Mi-rae, a webtoon producer who turns to a futuristic virtual dating service to navigate the complexities of modern relationships.

Seo In-guk portrays Park Kyeong-nam, Mi-rae’s colleague and romantic interest, creating a storyline filled with rivalry, humour, and emotional tension. The show blends themes of artificial intelligence with heartfelt romance, offering a fresh take on modern love in the digital age.

The 10-episode series is directed by Kim Jung-sik and written by Namgung Do-young. It also features a strong supporting cast including Gong Min-jeung, Kim Ah-young, Park Ha-erin, Ha Young, and Han Ga-eul.

While there has been no official announcement about a Bollywood project yet, Jisoo’s comments have certainly ignited excitement among fans. With K-pop and Korean entertainment gaining massive popularity in India, many believe a Bollywood collaboration could become a major cross-cultural moment for both industries.

For now, fans will have to wait and see whether Indian filmmakers respond to the buzz and bring the BLACKPINK star to the Bollywood big screen.
