Akshaye Khanna Retreats to Alibaug After Dhurandhar Success, Performs Puja at Home

Fresh from the success of Dhurandhar, Akshaye Khanna has once again shown why he remains one of Hindi cinema’s most understated stars. Instead of soaking in the limelight that usually follows a major hit, the actor has retreated to his Alibaug residence, embracing a phase of calm, reflection and spiritual grounding.

Finding calm beyond the camera
A glimpse into Akshaye’s serene break surfaced recently on social media when a local priest, Shivam Mhatre, posted a video from the actor’s home. The clip shows Akshaye taking part in a Vastu Shanti hawan, seated with three priests and dressed simply in a white shirt and blue jeans — a look that mirrors his minimalistic approach to life off-screen.

Sharing photographs from the ceremony, Mhatre expressed gratitude for the experience, writing that performing a traditional puja at Akshaye Khanna’s residence felt special because of the actor’s calm demeanour, simplicity and positive energy.

He also went on to praise Akshaye’s body of work, highlighting how the actor continues to raise the bar with every performance. From his impactful role in Chhaava to the intensity he brought to Dhurandhar, along with his restrained acting in Drishyam 2 and realistic portrayal in Section 375, Akshaye’s career choices reflect maturity and depth. According to Mhatre, it is this careful selection of roles and commitment to meaningful cinema that keeps Akshaye deeply respected among audiences.

Social media applauds his low-key lifestyle
As the video made its way across platforms, fans were quick to react — not just to the ritual, but to Akshaye’s relaxed approach to fame. Many admired how he stepped away after delivering massive box office performers. Comments ranged from praise for his “chilling” post-success phase to admiration for his quiet confidence and absence of aggressive self-promotion.

Several users noted how refreshing it was to see a star remain content without chasing constant visibility. Fans described him as grounded, secure and focused solely on his craft — qualities that, according to many, make his personality as compelling as his performances.

Dhurandhar continues to earn praise
Akshaye Khanna’s role in Dhurandhar remains one of the film’s most talked-about aspects. His layered portrayal of Rehman Dakait, the formidable leader of a Baloch gang, earned appreciation for its subtle intensity. Even his spontaneous dance moment to the Arabic track FA9LA became a viral highlight.

Written, directed and co-produced by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar boasts a strong ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi. Madhavan plays Ajay Sanyal, the Director of the Intelligence Bureau, while Ranveer Singh essays the role of Jaskirat Singh Rangi, also known as Hamza Ali Mazari.

The film traces Hamza’s dangerous mission as he infiltrates Rehman Dakait’s gang to relay crucial intelligence back to India. Despite mixed critical reviews, Dhurandhar has emerged as a major commercial success, crossing ₹400 crore at the Indian box office — further cementing Akshaye Khanna’s reputation as an actor who lets his work speak louder than words.
