Ramayana Teaser Out: The much-anticipated teaser of Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, has finally been unveiled, giving audiences their first glimpse of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama. The brief preview has already sparked massive excitement, hinting at a visually grand and emotionally rich retelling of one of India’s most revered epics.
What makes this project stand apart is not just its scale, but the ambition behind it. With a reported budget of over ₹4,000 crore, Ramayana is being positioned as one of the most expensive films ever made in Indian cinema.
A Grand Vision Like Never Before
The makers are planning to release Ramayana in two parts, with the first installment scheduled for October 2026, just ahead of Diwali, and the second part expected during Diwali 2027.
Producer Namit Malhotra revealed that the film has been in development for several years. He described the project as an attempt to bring India’s greatest epic to a global audience on an unprecedented scale, with a combined budget of around $500 million.
Despite the massive investment, the team maintains that the project is driven by vision rather than extravagance, aiming to balance scale with storytelling.
Ranbir Kapoor’s Biggest Payday Yet
One of the most talked-about aspects of the film is the remuneration of its star cast. Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Rama, is reportedly earning ₹75 crore per part, taking his total fee to ₹150 crore.
This marks a significant jump from his previous films. For Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, he reportedly earned around ₹25–30 crore, while Animal fetched him approximately ₹30–35 crore along with a share in profits. With Ramayana, his earnings have reached a completely new level.

Yash as Ravana Commands a Huge Fee
Kannada superstar Yash, cast as Ravana, is also commanding a massive paycheck. Reports suggest he is charging ₹50 crore per installment, totaling ₹100 crore for the two-part saga.
This is a notable increase from his earnings during the KGF franchise, reflecting his growing pan-India popularity and strong box-office appeal.
Sai Pallavi’s Rising Value
Actress Sai Pallavi, who plays a key role in the film, is reportedly being paid ₹6 crore per part, taking her total to ₹12 crore.
While her fee may appear modest compared to her co-stars, it represents a significant jump from her earlier projects in South Indian cinema, where she typically earned around ₹2.5–3 crore per film.
Sunny Deol and Ravi Dubey Add Strength to the Cast
Veteran actor Sunny Deol will be seen portraying Lord Hanuman and is reportedly earning ₹20 crore per part, totaling ₹40 crore. His recent success with Gadar 2 has reinforced his strong box-office presence.
Meanwhile, Ravi Dubey, known for his television work, is stepping into the role of Lakshman. He is expected to earn between ₹2–4 crore, marking one of the biggest paydays of his career so far.
Music by Two Global Legends
Another major highlight of Ramayana is its music. The film brings together two iconic composers—A. R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer—for the first time.
Rahman shared that working on such an important and globally recognized epic comes with immense pressure. The challenge lies in creating something fresh while respecting a story that is deeply rooted in Indian culture.
Their collaboration is expected to deliver a powerful and unique musical experience that matches the film’s scale.
